Casks flavour whiskies; they can also be made into fashion accessories.
The world’s first whisky sunglasses was launched in March this year at Glenmorangie’s Unseen Bar in Soho, London. These sunglasses were made from oak wood taken from casks that were originally used by Glenmorangie to mature their whiskies.
Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Distilling, Whisky Creation and Whisky Stocks, who attended the launch, said: “Created from Glenmorangie’s own American white oak casks, each pair of sunglasses displays its natural grain and unique finish, embodying our Highland Distillery’s commitment to craftsmanship, and our respect for the wood from which our casks are made.”
Now, not only you can taste the wood, you can wear them as well.
A pair will set you back £300. Available at glenmorangie.com/unseen.
